For fans worried sick (sorry) over which beloved cast members are going to make it to the next season of Grey’s Anatomy, the prognosis is good. Series originals Patrick Dempsey, Ellen Pompeo, Sandra Oh and Justin Chambers – along with Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr. – have all put pen to paper on a deal that will see them return for a ninth and tenth season on the ABC medical drama.

In a radio interview with Carson Daly this week, Dr. McDreamy himself discussed his relief over the end of the long contract negotiations. “It’s just so nice to have a job and it continues on as a wonderful thing, so, very grateful that it’s happening,” says Dempsey. “[i'm] very happy … to move forward and looking forward to another couple of years of the show.”

While the news of the contract renewals is great for a lot of fans, the recent announcements somewhat take away from the previously-publicized big news that one of our much-beloved doctors will be taking a one-way trip to the morgue in the season 8 finale.

With showrunner Shonda Rhimes saying “A lot of our writers were crying, which is a very rare thing,” it seems the announcement of the two-year contract deals could have been kept quiet for a little bit longer to add to the suspense of next week’s finale.

Considering Pompeo, Dempsey, Oh, Chambers, Wilson, and Pickens Jr are all coming back, it’s safe to say none of them will meet their maker – unless Grey’s Anatomy is about to become a far more dark and demented show.

It got off to a slow start (must we really listen to Meredith prematurely prepare for her funeral?), but the last three minutes left us wanting more... immediately. Too bad we’re going to have to wait another three weeks to find out what’s going to happen to one of our favorite docs. Will she get fired for spreading the deadly post-op infection among her patients? Only time will tell. Read on for Wetpaint Entertainment's review, and then rate it for yourself.

But who should take care of Zola and the fetus? Cristina, obviously! However, Cristina’s idea of parenting is hiring a “hoard of German nannies.” So maybe Cristina isn’t the best choice, after all. She just doesn’t want to be a mom. (We don’t even want to know how Owen is going to react to this news.)

Speaking of Owen, he, April, and Arizona offer to help teach a crash course of basic surgical skills for two Syrian doctors, but they soon realize that the Syrian docs have even fewer tools than they anticipated. As April puts it, they have to teach these guys how to do complicated surgeries with nothing more than a “piece of gum and a match stick.”

But April can barely concentrate because she’s too busy flipping out about meeting Matthew’s mom. Oh, April. Get it together, girl.

So the show is about the trials and tribulations in the lives of five surgical interns (that is, first-year surgeon residents who just graduated from med school). I see "Grey's Anatomy" as actually a cross between "ER" and "Dawson Creek" or "The O.C."--a show primarily centered around the growing pains of a group of young adults, but plunked down in the middle of a Seattle hospital instead of the picturesque coast of Massachusetts or California.
